Its no Cancun but really nice here. After much debate our plans to stay 5 days in Cancun suddenly got reschedule to Myrtle Beach, SC due to this whole swine flu scare. It probably would have been fine but we weren't willing to risk it with a 3 year old nor getting possibly stuck there. Our hotel, sheraton was willing to move us last minute and upgrade us to a two bedroom at the villas in Myrtle Beach. Then the airlines changed our miles/tickets for no fee too. We left airport at 7:30 and didn't get here til almost 3pm. It was a long morning. It is a very nice property and gated. It really caters to the family with a small water park n slides area, basketball, tennis, volleyball, mini golf, childrens activities. Our room is very large and nice with nice big bathrooms and big kitchen. Our first evening we didn't do too much but go eat at jimmy buffets margritaville. It was a loud fun place that enthralled Alexus. See the pics of the stilt walkers making her balloon hat. Then lots of dancing with them to Jimmy buffet songs. Good food. Monday we played a bit of mini golf and of course I found the local starbucks 10 blocks away. We were at the pool by 9am. It is much cooler here water wise than Mexico. So we swam with her and daddy did the lazy river with Mink. After nap, we went to the beach. Alexus's first time. A small storm was rolling in so it was very cool and windy. She liked running from the waves and burying her daddy, herself and my legs in the sand. She liked chasing the seagulls too. It was fun to have her experience the beach first time. This beach was surfside beach. We hard dinner at Hard Rock and shopped at the Boardwalk. The had a small child play park that was fun. Oh yeah, we visited Myrtle Beach after dinner on Sunday night just to collect some seashells to watercolor paint them. We took her to a near by park that was so nice. It was shaded with these huge tall trees we don't see much in Texas Last night was a small storm and clouds this morning so we visited Ripley's Aquarium. It was a neat smaller place. Lots of stuff going on at the Boardwalk tonight for Cinco de Mayo that we'll have to check out. Oidios for now.
