Fabulous at Forty

Well don't know about that but I did have a great 40th bday weekend. Went to see my friend that has been working off LA shores of and on for years now. It was a first for us both. We went to Mardi Gras! I've always wanted to go and said the time that it falls over my bday weekend, I'll go. What timing...to go for my 40th. Flew into Baton Rouge and got to have lunch with a friend from high school haven't seen in over 20 years. so great to see her. She still had those gorgeous eyes I remember. We check into the Sheraton on Canal and it was just so crowded. A friend from her worked pcked us up and we went to Uptown to see 3 parades. His family rents an apartment in the Garden District a mane part of the parade for 10 days so they have some to chill out, eat, etc. His parents were just so great...so kind hospitalable...true southerners. Bobby built this great stand too so we caught lots of beads and blinkies. In that area, it was just lots of families and kiddos not that reputation that unfortunately Carnival has been given. I got really cold and really tired. I probably should have bundled up a lot more that night. Next day we went eat on Bourbon at Red Fish and had the best bday dessert ever. Then we went to a beach place. Got a pic w/ some LMFAO wanna bes and party rock. Stac decorated the room for me w/ "forty" attire and that was so sweet considering she had to pack and travel w/ it. She got me a beautiful silver heart w/ a cross on it...so special something can't just find anywhere. Soon after lunch a 'monsoon' type storm hit so we went to the mall. Went to chochon's for dinenr and had lots of fun talking to others. Tired to see the grammy winning rebirth but couldn't stay up. So tired on the way home Cindy Lauper rode up in the elevator w/ us. We acted like no big deal. Sunday back up and out not too soon. I went to see jackson square but it was so windy and cold. then we wet to a super YUMMY restr. for carribean tacos called Rum House and shopped around warehouse district, went to the yummy Sucre sweets shop, before heading back to bobby's parents apartment to watch the parade. Got cold again and came inside...took over an hour to get back to hotel and then we went out for an hour or so. it was fun...an experience...met a couple from keller. Went to Monday we didn't do much had to get out of hotel, ate at TJ ribs again and I was feeling aweful sick like bronchitis. There were many things would have liked to done/seen and will go back. Wish we went to Frenchman's on Sat instead of waiting so long for that band. Had it not rained on Sat maybe got on a plantation tour or trolley ride or riverside. I will definitely go back.
