it was a really good trip and visit to chi town. I'm glad b/c I was so torn between going there or back to my hometown for my 20th reunion. The weather was much cooler. Bill visited his hs friends and his pop met the girls. Rita got an entire day to play with alexus and another one with Eva. Sunday Alexus and Nana went to the arboretum and minture golf. Plus Nana and Alexus had slumber party at her place every night there. Sunday Bill and Eva and I spent most of it at his uncles house and another short visit with his grandmother. Monday I went to my favorite sb store archivers in Chicago while Eva stayed with nana and Bill and Alexus went the Naperville children's museum. Then I called my mom and got some bad news. Granny had to have surgery she had a blood clot in her leg. She's currently in the cardio unit at HM (very nice building). I went and saw her first thing when I returned. But I was plesently surprised she looked pretty good and ate breakfast well while I was there. Anyway back to chi town. Then also Mon, Bill took Alexus swimming at hotel and then her to his friend, chips, who has four kids and lives on a big acre in the farmland. She had a blast with them and he visited with several hs friends. She didn't want to leave. Tues, we all went to breakfast with Nana. Then packed and took Alexus to the Promenade to play in the splash part of the mall (kind of like the fountains at Navy Pier but much smaller scale.) She had a blast. Then Bob (bills step dad) met us for lunch. I thought I left my purse so it caused a little ripple right before we got the airport but we got there in PLENTY of time. We had a scare though. We were waiting to get on the airplane. Right after we changed Eva's diaper we gave her a bottle while standing up waiting to get on plane. Well, I happen to notice her leg was turning blue....I mean BLUE...not bluish but blue. I freaked out. I grabbed her and let her feet dangle and had bill rub her legs and move her toes. Luckily the normal color returned. I think it was her diaper was too tight and it was cutting off the circulation. Thanks goodness one of us noticed quickly...boy was that scary. Thank you Lord for nothing worse happening. I tell myself all the time especially with two kids...you got to slow down and be careful. When your frantic and in a hurry with kiddos like I tend to get, it can be costly.
