Hello from Chicago

Uncle Jim and Dr. Evil and another visiting grandma in her new (very nice) place.

We are spending our last full day here in Chicago visiting my hubby's family. It was a pleasant surprise to find his grandmother doing quite well in a very nice retirement home. I know that makes Bill feel much better. We got to see her almost twice a day every day we've been here. We spent the first 2 nights with Bill's cousin Micheal who has a 3 year old too. Alexus and Gio had so much fun together. She loved playing with all his toys. Saturday after spending the morning with Gio and his mom and dad, we check into our Sheraton hotel in Schaumburg. Nice place..quiet so far. That evening after visiting grandma, we went to Naperville and while Alexus had a slumber party with her Nana while mom and dad when on a date. We met some of his highschool buddies. Sunday we had a quiet morning w/o Alexus then brunched with grandma and Bill's uncle family. There was Taylor and her beau Joe. Afterwards, Alexus showed her nana what a great swimmer she is becoming at the hotel and then after nap back to uncle Jims and dinner with them. For the first in a long time, we got to visit even though shortly with all three of Uncle Jim's daughters. Alexus just loved hanging out with them. She was just running all around the house dancing, laughing just giddy with excitement. Really made all us adults miss not living closer to family. Of course, we enjoyed Lou Malnoutys pizza and salad. It was so yummy. After a kind of a bad night, we enjoyed something surprising....Legoland! In the mall a couple of miles away, there was a great little amuzement park Legoland. It was just amazing. They had a play area, rides, the whole downtown replica of Chicago in total legos....a jungle. and a 4 D movie. It was incredible. We expected something like the one near our house which is nothing to write about but this place was incredible. I made a quickpage for Grandma kosla this morning that we'll hang up in her room. The weather was quite hot for this area starting out. Finally, today we got a break from the heat wiht a high in mid seventies.
