I wonder if we took a poll right now of all first time moms of toddlers asking if they ever expected that raising one would be so challenging. Would they say 'no'. I bet one of 100 would be the only to disagree. This morning was such a challenge and many times most are with a toddler. One minute that want this and the next they throw a fit to get something else. A tantrum on the floor. "I WANT MOMMY TO DO IT". "NO I WANNA WEAR THAT ONE" in a very whiny voice. That one being a pair of shorts on a very unusual cold day of below freezing wind chill. What happened to spring?
Unrelated, I want to apologize for not keeping this blog...something I was so very excited updated regularly. It is fun to do when life is grand but so hard to do when life throws those curveballs to us. We've been through that this last minute. having a strong willed toddler was the least of it all to say. Trying to remember the last weeks is like looking through fog. Bill, with some much needed fun time to himself, went to Phoenix for White Sox spring traing from Fri to mon. Mom and Alexus stayed home. Not an hour after Bill's flight took off I picked up Alexus wrong and either pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve in my back. I've done that a handful of times in my life and norally it takes days to get better with muscle relaxants and antiinflammatory drugs. With no nap for Alexus, I knew it would be rough. Friday last week we went to the park and enjoyed it with a boy from Alexus old school, his sister and mom. They had fun. Yet, I couldn't pick up to swing or anything of the sort nor could I even stand up straight. That evening I planned to take Alexus to a new hourly play time to see her old teacher she loves while I go to dinner and movie with my mom. I did but unexpectantly they hourly rate was NINE dollars. I should of just got a sitter for that. Then, the teacher/our friend had to take her son to the emergency room after an hour of so of being there. Afterall, Alexus didn't get to spend too much time with them and after a very expensive evening out I wondered if it was worth it. thankfully the following evening we had a adult and kid party that we ended. Alexus love swimming in their spa with her friends. She is back at weekly swimming lessons so she was ready to go,. I got to relax my back a bit and visit with some adults while she played and played. She had so much fun that she didn';t want to leave and had the BIGGEST WHAILING FIT when we left. Kind of embarrasing. She was exhausted from all the fun. Mommy was too. next day still hunched over we went to church and our normal Pei Wei visit and see the animals at PetsMart. Following that to another pet shop to be awed by a parrot and parakeet just roming around the store. The week was quite busy too. bill got home Monday night to turn around Tuesday and fly to Floriday for a day trip. Horrible storms delayed his flight 3 hours but least he made it back. His coworkers won't so lucky. Ithink they stayed the night in the airport seeking shelter twice from tornados in the bathrooms of the airport. Sounds scary. Wed night swimming cass after school and thurs wild about learning make up. Friday mommy went a vendor fair for the local council of PTAs. That is another thing that has taken a lot of my free time that I would normally blog. I'm coordinating a vendor fair for my moms group. It's been a lot of work. Oh, then I went to my strength training class and hurt my back again. Can't win for losing!
